The Foundation Conference of the Kalmykia regional branch of VEO of Russia was held in Elista on September 14, 2011.

The Foundation Conference of the Belgorod regional branch of VEO of Russia was held in Belgorod State Technological University named after V. G. Shukhov on September 8, 2011

June 8, 2011. The Conference on the foundation of the Tuva Regional VEO Branch was held in Tuva.

June 3, 2011. The results of the «Career in Innovations II» Competition were announced in the Saratov Regional Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

The Ulyanovsk Regional VEO Body invites you to take part in the V International Conference «Corporate Management: Leadership and Responsibility», to be held on the 6th – 7th of October, 2011 in Ulyanovsk.

April 18, 2011. The regional round-table meeting «Altai Today and Tomorrow: Economy, Ecology and Society» was held in the Barnaul branch of the All-Russian State Distance Learning Institute of Finance and Economics.

March 25, 2011. The official opening ceremony of the «Career in Innovations II» Competition was held.
The official opening ceremony of the «Carrier in Innovation» Start-Up Competition took place in the Institute of Business Development and Strategies, Saratov State Technical University. The Competition was organized by the Volga Region Youth Association of the VEO of Russia.

The VEO of Russia and the Caucasus Peoples' Friendship Institute organized the III International Theoretical and Practical Conference «Modernization in Russia in Post-Crisis Period: Economy, Society, Politics» (February 5-6, 2010, Stavropol).

On account of the Day of Russian Science, the VEO of Russia, Sverdlovsk Regional VEO Body, Ural State University of Economics, and the Institute of Economics belonging to the Ural Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences have organized the III Scientific Readings of Economy Professors and Doctors «Alternatives of Economic Growth: Innovative and Evolutionary Development of Russian Economy» (February 2-4, 2010, Ekaterinburg).

The solemn ceremony of awarding the winners of the Russian contest «Manager of the Year in State and Municipal Administration — 2011», was held on December 22, 2011 in Moscow at the House of Economist.

The Round Table devoted to the presentation of books «In the Gale of the Epoch» and «A Century-Wolfhound Throws Itself at Me. Rethinking the Destiny of Russia in the XXI Century» published in order to commemorate the birthday anniversary of President of VEO of Russia G. Kh. Popov took place on November 16, 2011 at the Fireside Hall of the House of Economist.

The meeting of the Round Table (the agro-industrial section of VEO of Russia) on the theme: «Small Commodity Sector as a Potential Reserve for the Agricultural and Food Sector of Russia» took place on November 9, 2011 at the House of Economist.

Abalkin’s Readings, Round Table: Economic Growth of Russia on the theme: «On the Concept of the Long-Term Social and Economic Development of Russia» took place on November 2, 2011 at the Fireside Hall of the House of Economist.

On October, 31st, 2011 75 years were executed by Gavriil Kharitonovich Popov — President of the International Union of Economists, President of the Free Economic Society of Russia, President, Honored Academician of the International Academy of Management, President of the International University, Moscow Mayor Adviser, Academician of the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences, Ph.D. (Econ.), Professor. To celebrate his 75th anniversary, the Economicheskaya Gazeta Publishing House published a collection of publicist works and essays devoted to the life and creative work of Gavriil Kharitonovich called «Amidst the Storms of the Epoch», within the framework of the book series «Presidents of VEO». The TONCHU Publishing House has published a book of the selected works by G.Kh. Popov, «The Wolfhound Century Rushes to My Throat. Rethinking About the Fate of Russia in the 21st century», by his anniversary. Article written to the anniversary of G. Kh. Popov (the article is published in the bulletin «Econom» № 4(42)). The Free Economic Society of Russia (VEO) and the P.A. Stolypin Legacy Fund invite you to take part in the Theoretical and Practical Conference devoted to the 100th Anniversary of death of P.A. Stolypin, the outstanding statesman and politician. The Conference will open at 10 a.m., September 12, 2011, in the Conference Halls of the Moscow Mayor's Office.

May 3-4, 2011. On the initiative of N.A. Nazarbaev, the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Astana Economic Forum took place in Astana. Among the invited participants was A.V. May 2, 2011. Death of Leonid Ivanovich Abalkin, the great Russian and Soviet economist, the most distinguished statesman and public figure. Abalkin was a full member of the VEO Senate, the head of Theoretical and Practical Council of the VEO of Russia, vice-president and head of the IUE Coordination Council, scientific adviser of the Institute of Economics of the Russian Academy of Sciences, vice-president and honorary Academician of the International Academy of Management, Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences, D. Sc. (economics), professor.

April 24–29, 2011. The XVI International Congress on Regional Development took place in Switzerland (Montreux). The subject of the Congress was «Global Economy: 20 Years of Post-Industrial Development in Former Socialist States».

April 22, 2011. At the award ceremony in the Round Hall of the President Hotel, the winners of the «Manager of Year 2010» and «Economic Growth in Russia» competitions were named from among the students of general education and economy schools, lyceums, gymnasiums and colleges.

April 21, 2011. The II Plenary Session of the Free Economic Society of Russia was held in the Chimney Hall of the House of Economists. During this Session, the best scientific works of students, postgraduates and young scientists submitted to the «Economic Growth in Russia» competition were announced, and the winners and laureates of that competition were awarded.

March 31, 2011. The VEO of Russia held a jury meeting in the framework of XIV All-Russia Competition «Economic Growth in Russia» intended for selection of scientific works presented by the students of general education and economy schools, lyceums, colleges, students and listeners of Russian institutions of higher educations, postgraduates, young scientists and applicants from research institutes and higher education establishments of Russia.

March 30, 2011. The regular round table «Economic Growth in Russia» took place in the House of Economists, to discuss the topics on «Socio-Economic Results of Post-Crisis Development of Custom Union Member States». The round table was organized by the Free Economic Society of Russia, Institute of Economics of the Russian Academy of Sciences, International Union of Economists and Regional Public Fund «Integration» for facilitation of cooperation between the CIS states.

The main talk was presented by S.Yu. Glazyev, the vice-president of the VEO of Russia, Deputy secretary general of EurAsEC, executive secretary of Custom Union Commission, Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences, D. Sc. (economics), professor.

March 16, 2011. The round table meeting which took place in the Chimney Hall of the House of Economists was devoted to presentation of the book «Manichaeism and Gnosticism: Cultural Codes of Russian Civilization» (written by I.G. Yakovenko and A.I. Muzykantsky).

February 9, 2011. The VEO of Russia and Institute of Economics of the Russian Academy of Sciences held an ongoing round table meeting "Economic Growth in Russia" devoted to the discussion «Russian Economy at the Turn of Millennium: Results and Prospects».
